U21 Hurling Semi-Final results

The Co. Semi-Finals of the 2011 Roinn 1 Hurling Finals were played tonight. Oylegate-Glenbrien, the Enniscorthy District champions, played Rathgarogue-Cushinstown in St. Patrick’s Park and resulted in a 1-14 to 0-14 win for the men in blue and white from Oylegate-Glenbrien.

The second game saw the Gorey champions Buffers Alley play Our Lady’s Island in Monamolin.  This game was switched from Bellefield owing to the non-availability of the pitch and resulted in an Alley win – Buffers Alley 5-14 to Our Lady’s Island-St. Fintan’s 0-11.  Two goals mid-way in the first half from seventeen year old Andrew Kenny and Páraic Roche turned the game for the Gorey district men who never looked back.

The Captain Michael Baker U21 Semi-Finals between Oulart-The Ballagh and Glynn-Barntown ended in a draw and extra time wasn’t played.  The final score was Oulart-The Ballagh 1-22 – Glynn-Barntown 4-13.
