Wexford’s minor Gaelic Games teams experience mixed fortunes today with the footballers going down to a late Westmeath rally, when they scored 1-01 in 50 seconds, losing out on a scoreline of 1-10 to 0-10.

Ireland Leinster MFC, despite leading for 58 minutes of the game, a high work rate team performance and some great individual performances the homeside managed to stage a heartbreaking comeback in the form of Westhmeath’s substitute Kieran Shanley 59th minute goal. Scores from Donal Shanley, Cormac O’Rourke and midfielder Jamie Carty soard Wexford into an early 0-4 to 0-1 lead this was followed by two more on target frees by on form Shanley and a Tom Byrne effort brought their total to six points at
half-time.The second half seen wexford start as the finished and added another 3 points before things started to fall into place for westhmeath and finished the last 11 mins scoring 1-5.
While in the Minor Camogie ‘B’ All Ireland Semi Final, Wexford triumphed, emerging comprehensive winners beating Dublin 2-14 to 0-2. Next up, an All Ireland final versus Offaly in 2 weeks time.
The lads travel to play Carlow on Wednesday 24th of April at 7.30pm in a last chance saloon game. Carlow lost out today to our neighbours Wicklow 2-08 to 2-14
