The Wexford County Games Development Committee is organising a Schools/ Teachers event on the June 8th in St Peters before the Wexford v Dublin game in Wexford Park and so far over 120 teachers are scheduled to attend.
The event is part of the Action Plan / Hurling Blueprint and will include Pat Daly and local speakers. There will be a presentation too on the ‘Willie Cleary Initiative’ an innovative, ambitious programme designed and piloted by Wexford minor hurling manager and teacher and mentor in Crossabeg/Ballymurn. This programme links clubs and schools and has proved higher successful and mutually beneficial.
The event is aimed at:
- Thanking schools and teachers for their support and interest in GAA
- Outlining the Willie Cleary Initiative
- Input from Pat Daly (Games and Coaching Croke Park) on the importance of clubs and schools working in partnership
- Rackard League input from teachers
- Address by Co Chairman Diarmuid Deveraux
- Tea and refreshments (served in the Park)
