Wexford senior hurler Andrew Shore has received official confirmation that a 48 week ban handed down late last year remains in place which, unless successfully appealed will leave him with no role to play in the 2015 Allianz league.
Shore had received the heavy ban after Shore, a member of the Parnell’s club in Dublin, played a game in Birmingham last October. Shore believed his transfer paperwork was in order before playing the game for the Roger Casements club, but on examination of the forms, officials decreed otherwise.
He traveled to Newcastle last Saturday to a personal hearing to appeal the ban which would keep him out of all GAA activity for a year.
However he has received the devastating news that the ban remains in place. He now has three days to appeal the decision and it is believed that Shore will lodge an appeal.
Wexford manager Liam Dunne said:’ I’m just hoping someone, somewhere will allow common sense prevail’.
