Martin Storey Cup & Shield Update

Wexford GAA & Oulart The-Ballagh GAA  are delighted to see such a great response to the Martin Storey U15 Competition in it’s inaugural year. Well done to all mentors and clubs for participating. The aim of this tournament is focused on development, fairness and participation.

Ray Harris Coaching Officer has expressed his delight with the competition ; “It’s great to be hosting so many teams I think it will be great for players to get opportunities for even more games. It widens the net more players to get even better. Partnering with Wexford GAA has helped us in organisation of the tournament and hopefully this can further add to the platform of work we have done over the last number of years to enhance our underage section. We have set up nursery as well as our Hurling 365”

Teams will play of in groups leading to a finals day in Oulart the Ballagh. Its expected over two hundred players will take part from eighteen teams. From the outset hurling development officer Willie Cleary has encouraged teams to be respectful, promote fair play and use the tournament to further enhance the skills of the players in a developmental context.
