A New Open, productive and constructive 2017 Wexford GAA County Convention

A record attendance for the 2017 County Convention took place on Monday night and saw the re-election of the outgoing management committee. Excellent presentations were delivered by Willie Cleary on the Hurling 365 primary schools initiative and by Mícheál Mahon and his team on the potential for increasing commercial revenue. Motions were passed regarding the availability of inter-county players to club

teams, particularly during April, on amending the current rule that under 20 footballers called up to intercounty senior teams are thus not available to the U20 squad (to vary this for teams in divisions 3 and 4), on affording official recognition to the Club Players’ Association and on ensuring that every delegate’s vote at Congress or Special Congress is recorded and published. Our County Chairman Derek Kent in his Chairman’s address gave a true and open reflection on what Wexford GAA County board has achieved over the past season and outlined the work ahead of us in 2018 to bring Wexford GAA to another step further
