The Wexford GAA community saddened on the passing of a great Wexford GAA Gael

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Joe O’ Shaughnessy and We extend our condolences to all of his family and friends.

Joe who was widely respected as a player and for his roles in GAA administration. A record nine Senior football championship medals with Castletown along with a number of other titles at club level. Proudly wore the purple and Gold jersey for Wexford at U-21 footballers and played on the Wexford Senior Football team from 1966 to 1974.

Joe served as Chairman of Wexford GAA County Board and a central council Rep and a huge force in his own club Castletown where he served as Club Chairman and treasurer

Someone who is held in the highest of esteem in our county and will be sadly missed
